Jan van Heugten (partner)
In January 2001 Jan van Heugten together with Marcel Dekker founded an independent tax advisory firm in Veenendaal: Van Heugten & Dekker Belastingadviseurs BV.
Jan started in 1983 as international tax adviser in the general advisory practice of Peat Marwick Tax advisers in The Hague (currently known as KPMG). Whilst working for Peat Marwick Jan finalized his study Tax Law at the University of Leiden. He then started working for Nassau tax advisers in The Hague and subsequently Berk Accountants & Belastingadviseurs Utrecht in the international tax practice.
Jan works in the general tax practice and is specialized in international VAT and corporate income tax structures.
Marcel Dekker (partner)
In 1996 Marcel finalized the study Tax law at the University of Tilburg. During his study Marcel was a member of the Association of tax lawyers `De Smeetskring`. He participated in and contributed in winning the debate competition of the University of Tilburg.
After his study Tax Law Marcel worked for one year for a small tax advisory office in Veenendaal. In 1997 Marcel started with Berk Accountants & Belastingadviseurs in the international practice. During this period Marcel worked together with Jan van Heugten which has led to the start of an independent office.
Marcel has an in depth knowledge of the expat practice. However, also due diligence investigations, exempt investment company (VBI), transfer of companies, restructurings and financial planning for wealthy clients do fall within his scope of work.
Pieter Groenenboom (partner)
Pieter studied both Fiscal Economics as well as Fiscal Law at the University of Tilburg and graduated in 1997.
In 1996 Pieter joined Arthur Andersen in Rotterdam where he started as a tax adviser in the international tax practice. In 1999 he started working as a tax adviser for Gibo Accountants & Adviseurs at the head office of the Food & Retail practice. In September 2002 Pieter started at Van Heugten & Dekker Belastingadviseurs as an employee. As per January 1, 2007 he has become partner.
Pieter is specialized in assisting international clients in setting up a Dutch business as well as expats moving to The Netherlands. Pieter also has a thorough knowledge of corporate income tax structures.
Bas Jonker (tax adviser)
Bas Jonker is working at Van Heugten & Dekker Belastingadviseurs as per October 2003. Bas studied Fiscal Economics at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. Bas is working in a broad area. He advises both national and international clients with respect to all relevant taxes. Bas also prepares complex tax returns and assists with major projects such as payroll tax audits, acquisitions, mergers en split offs etc. He also assists in preparing the weekly internal technical tax meeting. Bas succesfully completed the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers education.
Mike Hardeman (tax adviser)
Mike Hardeman started as per February 1, 2007 at Van Heugten & Dekker Belastingadviseurs. Mike finalized his study Fiscal Law at the University of Tilburg in 2006. During his study, Mike worked as a tax adviser for Berk Accountants & Belastingadviseurs in Utrecht and as a pension adviser at Akkermans & Partners Pensioen Juristen BV.
Amongst others Mike is involved in calculations for pension reserves and pension payments as well as drawing up pension agreements for substantial shareholders. Furthermore, Mike is working on preparing individual income tax returns and corporate income tax returns of both national and international clients as well as applications for the 30% reimbursement rulings. Mike successfully completed the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers education.
Caroline Coenraad (office manager/ administrator)
Caroline started October 1, 2011 at Van Heugten & Dekker Belastingadviseurs. She works as office manager and administrator. Caroline has an administrative background and finished an MBA study.
Caroline takes care of all kinds of correspondence as well as various administrations of clients. She also prepares annual accounts and VAT returns. Furthermore, Caroline takes good care of the internal planning and procedures.
Fia Arissen (tax adviser)
Fia Arissen started with Van Heugten & Dekker Belastingadviseurs BV in 2002. After high school (VWO) she studied Agriculture in Dronten. Fia worked for various companies in the agriculture areas as well as in other areas. In 2002 Fia started studying tax related studies. She already graduated for several courses and graduated in 2009 for the CB tax adviser study.
Fia is mainly working on preparing individual as well as corporate income tax returns as well as VAT returns. Furthermore, Fia also assists with the applications for the 30% ruling and other tax advisory services.
Anoek Budding (tax adviser)
Anoek Budding started with Van Heugten & Dekker Belastingadviseurs BV in January 2008. After high school (VWO) she studied general economics at the Amsterdam University. Thereafter Anoek studied fiscal economics and finsihed this early 2011. Presenlty she follows the three years NOB-study (Dutch Association of Tax Advisers) in which the fiscal theory learned will be used in practice situations.
Anoek is providing all kinds of supportive tax advisory services such as innovation box, requests for application of the 30%-ruling, personal- and corporate income tax returns, registration with the Dutch tax authorities, notices of objection etc.
